Hi Darthvega

My pleasure - have upgraded you to full member access.

thanks
Steve

Thank you.

First thoughts, nice layout, easy to navigate and pleasantly surprised the video quality is very good (so important I feel if you are trying to emulate a one-to-one type situation)

Some nice videos on the basics which we can all benefit from, I can see people using this a lot if they are reasonably new to golf or a mid-high h/cap or infrequent player.

What would interest me is;
1) some advanced videos for the lower h/cap player, especially things like fading/drawing the ball, high/low shots, playing in wind, manufacturing a big slice/hook to get out of trouble etc

2) A faults section with video 'fixes', so for easy reference I'm going thru a phase of hitting fat shots, or shanks, or thins, pull hooks etc etc so if you see your 'fault' its one click to get find the reason and cure.

3) A basic rules of golf section, yes I know there are a zillion rules but some key ones that most golfers come across each round might help, ie OOB, playing wrong ball, penalty for water hazards, how to drop well etc

4) Some new club reviews especially putters, hard to find a single proper video review with someone actually testing a putter on real grass

apologies for going on and possibly mentioning things that could be already on the site but I havent looked at it all yet. I had more but it's sounding like a negative pointing out whats not there and that couldnt be further from my intentions so I'll stop for now.

Just first thoughts and congratulations on your venture.

*EDIT* just realised the sites called weekend golfers so my comments are probably out of kilter with your model, sorry.

Hi Darthvega

Thanks for the feedback, that was quick :)

Some great ideas for us to work with.

1) we are looking at the layout and may have sections dedicated to different ability of player. I like the shot shaping, playing into the wind etc...we have some of those in the pipeline

2) The Faults Section - good shout again, we have already made 'How To Fix A Slice' & 'How To Fix A Shank' will be on the site within the next week or so.

3) Rules of golf is in the plans - as is a section for Etiquette

4) We thought long and hard about the reviews - it's finding a balance between providing great content and 'selling or rather not selling' to our customers.

We are initially looking at doing videos for coaching/training aids...what they're for and how to use them properly.

Thanks for taking the time to write this and feel free to go on as much as you like...this is the reason we wanted to get some feedback, to give people what they want rather than what we think they want.

many thanks
Steve

Just been having a look around Steve. Really good site full of great videos and I look forward to going through all of them. One thing that I have made comment on your site on is the drive for show equipment section. Some great advice and it is something that you see being asked all the time on here is "what driver should I use" or "what shaft would be best for me?"

It would be interesting to see you change the video and actually see someone hitting a driver that has the incorrect shaft and loft for them, showing the difference the correct flex and loft makes.

Cheers for the link Steve, going to be good using this.

I have signed up and will have a proper play when I get out of the office.... look forward to it.

Really like the look of things so far. Really simple interface, clean without loads of flashing ad banners that slow down buffering speed for the clips.

I think it covers loads of stuff, but a possible one to look at would be "debunking popular myths". As you may have picked up on here, there is a lot of confusuion about the modern ball flghts laws. ;)
