It's odd how a 'revalation' happens.
I was out last night, played 9 with a mate who hits a 3-wood a mile but a driver - useless. Watching him, I could see that he was way off line, feet one way, club head another and aiming in another direction.
Up to then I'd hit a couple of wayward drives, a mixture - pulled left and high slice.

I must have been told this a thousand times but thereafter I consciously checked head, feet, shoulders aiming the same way - split every fairway on the back nine.

Most frequent correction was to the shoulders.

I found the same thing. At the range last week, I made a conscious effort to lower my right shoulder as I set up to the ball (with driver) rather than allow it to come round. Result - straight drives every time. :D :D :D :D

Biggest one for me recently was loosening my grip a lot.
Ball started to go where i wanted it to and added a lot of fluidity to my whole stroke.
It'll be something else next week!

Same here. This is an almost weekly thing for me.

I think "ahh that's what's been going wrong', correct it, start nailing every shot.

A week later it'll be something else :D

My last lesson concentrated on driving. I was set up with my feet too narrow, and torso right in the middle. Pro got me to spread my legs what I thought was way too much, felt like I was doing the splits, thought they are actually just wider than my shoulders. He also got me to tilt my shoulders, so that I can see my left knee through the tiangle of my arms. Uncomfortable at first, but its meant 90% of my drives fly straight, or with a little left-to-right fade, and 10-20 extra yards. Best tenner I've spent with him yet :)

Thats the essence of the game, that it can't be mastered. How many times have you gone out thinking "this is the round" only to blow up before half-time

I guess the answer is to stick with whats working on the day. For me my reveltation is a taller posture and straighter spine to give me room to turn rather than a slouched position.

The reason why most revelations you have only work for a little while is that it temporarily gives your conscious mind something else to think about other than trying to tell your body how to do something it already knows how to do.

Not word for word, but the general gist of a quote from "The Inner Game Of Tennis"
