Reusing grips problem

I’ve taken the grips off my clubs in order to refit them with less tape underneath, and there are bits of old tape left inside the grips.

Does anyone have a good way of removing it? I’ve not had a go yet because it’s still slimy from the solvent but I can imagine it’s a pain to do.

Our lot just use a hook to fish it out.

You can get proper grip brushes but normal bottle brushes does the job.

Get it out while it’s wet .
If you let it dry it’s harder.

Do them one at a time so when you put it back on you can squeeze any bumps out.
They usually flatten on their own ,if they don’t just roll the grip on a piece of timber 4x2 until smooth.
