Hi Golf Fans,

I quit golf 6 years ago for many reasons but I'm getting the urge to return.

I gave all my irons away years ago so will be starting from scratch (not handicap).

As I've been out of the game for so long I have no up to date knowledge of the latest golf equipment.

I used to play off 9 and played Mizuno TP-Z's. I've had a quick look on the web and quite like the look of Mizuno's MP-53.

Has anyone used these clubs or can give me an alternative. I think it will be best to give myself a short list so I don't fry my brain before I go and test a few sets.

Thanks in advance.

had a look on mizuno site and i don't think you'd go far wrong with either them or the 58's and 63's. failing that a decent second hand set of MP60's or 32's would see you right as well. i use the MP33's pure blade, and yes they have a level of forgiveness, but they can be hard work to get a pure strike each time.

hope this helps

p.s i've always been a mizuno blade man and probably wouldn't consider any other iron.

Might be worth considering a custom-fit, especially as you were playing to a good standard before you gave up. This is the route I took after being out of the game for a very long time. Best thing I could have done.

Hi and welcome back to golf.
First thing you'll need is a chipper. Then loads of hybrids, a few rescues and 1 or 2 utility clubs. A lob wedge and a putter should complete your set.
Black gloves, black socks and shorts are now all the rage.

( who'd of thought it )

A cart bag, a go kart, a GPS and Laser rangefinder, some IJP shirts and troosers and your about sorted.
Not forgetting a handicap of say about 22?
Can't think of anything else newly invented for golf.............. :D

welcome back ..same as me after a long time away I got back into it last year, luckily i kept my gear

the latest golf equipment has come along way....now any old hacker can turn pro with heads the size of grapefruit's ,adjustable clubs to make the most hideous of swings hit it straight etc :D

hope you get fully back into it, enjoy it & keep playing :)

I think the first thing to do once you decide on some new clubs is get a lesson ad get the basics refreshed. On the club side of things I'd look around as there are lots of great clubs in the market these days including some good Nike ones, The Ping I15 and the AP range from Titleist. Go out and try as many as you can. It might even be worth paying for a C/F session and getting your specs and then looking from there
