Retrieving a card from the Comp Box

What if they can't be bothered to hand their card in because their car is on the far side of the car park and they can't be bothered to walk back to the clubhouse? Maybe it's raining and they are fed up. Perhaps their score is rubbish or maybe, as you say, their score gets them a cut but no money? In fact, they are the same scenarios whether the score is on a card or a computer, no difference.
Hahaha.... same as them you think you've escaped.... with a card you have the chance of recovering their score from the card they marked... but if 'no card'... no chance!!

our box isn't locked. you can simply get your card back and sort it out.

Yooouse avvin a laaff....... hahaha ...... remember he forgot to do the voluntary 'PSI' bit, didn't he :rofl:

I was having a laugh on that particular post, it just tickled me :D. The whole, recent, discussion has been theoretical and interesting at times. No animals were hurt in the writing of this thread so all is well.

Yer right... if only the golf courses were fully open :one:

Thought you were coming down to Cleveland next Sunday?? Will defo be fully open. One place still available :whoo:

No, a bit too parky and the lure of the steelworks wasn't quite enough to bring me back. Very good course but links generally and links in January doesn't get my gear in the car on the whole.

Have a feeling we need some of the Yorkshire lads to put a meet on. You are all at nice courses :D. Perhaps you can have a chat next weekend and pick a location for us all to come down to, in Spring and beyond of course.

Come, come... Cleveland IS yet another Yarkshire Meet.
It's you NE guys who are rather lagging behind Meet-wise
Thought where you are you'd be used to the delights of refreshing Easterly breezes or are you a Southern softy gone North?
Can't you'se get us in at Close house or somewhere??

We need to butter up Moogie for Close House, he is a member for the Filly Course. That would be a very nice option although there are lots of cracking parkland, moorland courses in Gods own country.

Do you really want to claim Cleveland as one of your own? I thought a new county had been created just so that you could ditch Middlesbrough and surrounds :D?

Coming from the NW I am used to the rain. I don't know if you ever get used to the NE wind in winter. I used to play at Alnmouth Village so I have done my stint on NE coastal courses. Happy to have gone soft.

To be fair Moogie did have a go a while back.

Think you'd have to ask Hobbit whether he was still insisting Redcar was in Yarkshire as I'm more of a NE'er than him by birth. Though happy to have got away from those NE'erlys in dear old sheltered Leeds.

Have got too much on this next year to arrange a Yarkshire Meet but may look at setting up another Alwoodley one for 2019..... IMO the 2nd best course in Yarkshire after Ganton..... so worth a trip down. I think we had about 24 or so last time I ran it.

I'd definitely be up for that and I am sure plenty of others would. I've not played there yet but it looks lovely and I have only heard good comments.

There are a few lads at courses up here that wont take much of a nudge to organise something this year I don't think. I tried to get something going at my place last year. A few came along, maybe me or my course put others off! Perhaps my place is too far north of the river for a day trip. We have a few in Durham that might be more tempting for the Yorkshire lads. Hopefully something will get sorted.

Enjoy yourself on Sunday, wrap up mind :D.

Yes at £60 with bacon butty & meal after they came from a far.... its what got Fish started in the NE v Yarkshire series

Try Hunley Hall. That'll sort them out.

Can you get there up the A68 as I strongly resist having to go past Metro Centre..... ruddy car-park it is.

Sorry for resurrecting this one... as it certainly produced divided opinions

but as we approach the start of the Season I'm interested to know from those Clubs that allow 'Retrieval of Boxed Cards'

1. What changes do you allow?
2. Any other restrictions/conditions etc.

Thanks for everyone's past input & in anticipation of further.... thanks again:thup:

For any changes to be made to a card placed in the box your committee have to deine the scoring area in their conditions of competition such that simply placing the card in the box doesn't close of the process.

If you do that changes are effectively unlimited in the context of any difference between a card placed in the box and one that hasn't yet been placed in the box - it's that simple.

6-6c/1 is very clear

Thanks Duncan I thought so, though it seems that folks first reaction is that it opens up the opportunity for score manipulation. I personally doubt that would be the case & such manipulation is a seperate issue all together really. Am wondering How long have you used this definition & how has it been received? Sorry to be going on but I think if we cooperate with members where ever possible then we have good reason to expect them to do the same in return.
