Trying to find an actual restaurant menu, that doesn't come from Trip advisor, Restaurant Guru or some other ad sites, ffs just publish or post your own menus.

Where are you looking?
Most of the ones I visit have menus in pdfs, or pages of their websites.

It's the ones that put photos on their menus that annoy me. Especially when the photo looks nothing like the actual meal. I have a rule that if there is a photo on the menu I'm not eating there.

My “eating out” rule is that I will NEVER go anywhere which advertises “2 meals for 1” deals, or “2 courses for £X”.

Long ago, I learned that these phrases are code for “Our food is a load of shite”.

Google search a menu for a restaurant and umpteen appear, mostly from ad companies. Sometimes the restaurant's own web page only shows Tripadvisor and Guru .
Can't say I recall this as something I've experienced? If I'm looking at a restaurant's own website, it's pretty much guaranteed that it's an image of their own menu I'm looking at?

Not necessarily true, as a lot of Michelin starred restaurants include such offers on their lunch menus.
It’s a cheaper way into fine dining.

I love that on holiday. It's a sign we are no longer in the UK. The Spanish are the kings of menus with pictures ?

Wow, who's a little Mr Grump this morning...?:ROFLMAO:

Once upon a time we just turned up at a restaurant and picked something from the menu in front ot us. You getting fussy in your old age Billy?

That was a favourite saying of my dad. "Don't eat anywhere with photos on the menu." I tend to follow his advice.

Similarly, if there are no plates or cutlery, can you call it a restaurant?

So are the Japanese, they are also the king of life size models of their fayre. Often not looking as good as the real thing, but sometimes tasting better than the real thing :ROFLMAO:

Not me mate I'll eat almost anything, its the misses she's a vegie, it's a nightmare trying to find places that suit her.
We dine/lunch out twice a week , we have our favourite restaurants, but like to try new places.
But I admit to being a little grumpy today, I keep getting logged out of my FB and GM pages and have to log in again every time

I guess an Argentinian steak house is out of the question then?

I feel your pain. Our eldest is a veggie. We passed many a good restaurant because there's been nothing remotely close on the menu for her.

Why Google the menu though, simply go onnthe restaurant website and click the menu link ?
Unless I'm being overly simple in my approach but that's always worked for me.. Though i am also fairly simple ?
