Replacement Kindle 3 Screen

Just turned my kindle 3 on and found that the e-ink screen has cracked. Having a look around the replacement screens are £50! Almost the same price as the Kindle is now.

No point in sending it to amazon as it will be expensive to fix, so thinking of a DIY jobby...

Anyone else had this?

I heard Kindle very good at replacing, a friend of mine sat on his on holiday and they replaced it free of charge, got to be worth an email to see if they will help you out
