Removing a glove for putting?

I don't putt with my glove on, but it's only habit. It just feels weird with it on.
Similarly with chipping, it feels weird taking my glove off.

Ditto. Probabl something I picked up as a kid and done it ever since. Going to try a pair of winter gloves this year (got some under armour ones) and won't bother taking them off.

At my level and with my forlorn short game taking it off for chips and putts isn't going to make an iota of difference. However it just feels so alien to leave it on after all these years and the last thing you need standing over a crucial 6 footer is to think about how uncomfy the club feels in your gloved hand

i do it when putting. a, it feels nicer when hitting a delicate putt. b, gives your glove a chance to air out so it doesnt get sweaty/

I don't know.....putting with a glove on is just not right. I've tried it, but it feels rubbish and just all wrong.

I remove my glove after every stroke and put it back on as i am picturing the shot i wish to play next as i use an over lock grip for putting i have never wore a glove as it feels uncomfortable

Always! I hardly ever use a glove for any shot but always have one in the back pocket.

I do think there is a difference in the feel between with and without and as it shouldn't take any added time to do (Take you glove off after approach shot on the way and back on when walking to next tee) I don't see why you wouldn't. Your grip should be free of tension and relaxed more so with putting and chipping that the rest and wearing a glove can't help that.

Quite often take the glove off indescriminately in the round for iron shots as well as putting, but equally might leave it on, more from absentmindedness than anything else. Maybe that is why i am so inconsistent?

I never take my glove off for any shot. I think the main reason people do is because they are imitating what the professionals do and they are only doing it because the generation of pros before them did it. Someone has a lot to answer for!

It is a waste of time and pretty pointless if you ask me. Almost enough to make you swear....

since starting to leave my glove on, I haven't noticed any difference in feel. I suspect that its one of those mental things whereby once you have got into a habit, breaking it would be the first thing blamed if the shot didn't work out as planned. Fortunately for me, my decision to keep the glove on coincided with a marked improvement in my putting (not related, it was actually a hip alignment issue), so maybe i've now got a mental block about removing the glove..
On another note, ive never suffered with sweaty hands during a round, so have never felt the need to remove the glove for comfort reasons.. The glove goes on at the start of the round, then gets removed as the last putt drops. This has also helped to extend the life of my glove. the current one has done 30+ rounds and is still in good condition..

if its hot then I take glove off to stop it getting sweaty ... even take it off between shots when its really hot. For most of the time I don;t bother removing it (maybe just undo the velcro strap)

With any "normal" shot the glove hand has all the fingers on the grip, with putting my index finger runs across all the fingers on my other hand - with a glove on that just feels weird to me.

Sometimes do some times don’t depends if I can be (oh wait I can’t say that) bothered. Do more in summer to keep the thing dry, but I would never, never ever have it hanging out of my back pocket..

I play a shot then remove the glove and it comes off for all things around the greens (chips, bunkers and putting).

I have played a few times without a glove and often wondered why I wear one.

Never take my glove off and see no advantage to it. As for feel, surely a nice new smooth leather glove gives more feel than an old gnarled hand ?

I put the glove on when on the practice green, and it comes off when I am grabbing for my wallet to buy beers in the 19th.

Play with a good mate who takes his glove off after every shot. Walks up to the ball looks at it, puts on the glove and then selects his club, practice swing. Takes ages, does my head in sometimes.
