Removing a glove for putting?

Ha!.

My own buddy says the same, when he puts on the glove he is getting into the Zone - similar to Sly Stallone tweaking his cap in "Over the Top" when he's about to arm wrestle.

If he was online he'd probably be whinging about me always rushing everyone and constantly checking if we are playing slow.

The golf glove is surely designed to help improve the grip on shots where the swing is at a higher velocity (driver, fairway woods and irons). I have to hold my hand up and admit that I am a pen pusher and consequently have baby soft hands. Swinging without a glove is like begging for blisters. That said I much prefer not wearing a glove. So it goes on at the tee and stays on till I'm within 60 yards. If I could I'd play without a glove but I can't.

I think the notion of taking it off between shots to imitate the pros is hilarious. I take it off mainly out of habit but in the summer especially to stop if getting overly sweaty. If one thing is going to make a leather glove go hard it is getting damp with perspiration. In the winter I take it off as I usually picking a wet ball off the fairway to clean and don't want the golve getting damp. No great mystery

One yard rule. Get to my ball, assess my options (wind distance etc) and make my club selelction. Glove goes on - game time. One practice swing by my bag. I have an imaginary line a yard from the ball and once I step over that line I'm committed to the shot. Address the ball, one look at the target and swing. Watch the ball land, step back over the line and glove comes off

Cooo.........that's a bit long winded!!!!
