After a debate with a pillock in the clubhouse yesterday regarding marking balls on greens and objects you are able to use, I was informed by said fellow that due to me not having an handicap he wont play me in a friendly lol, I thought my wife was going for the best evils stare known to man!! That was the least of what he was like, at one stage he was that patronising to me due to only being in the game for 15 months (whereas he is on 6 years) that I actually had to say something about it, then he had the cheek to say he has more chances than me of becoming Captain (as he is Asian), I was like :confussed: as I never thought about it and cant see having time for it.

Does every club have a pillock like this? I ask as this is my first club and I am meant to be having my interview tonight but this ejit has put me off.

I would have played with you, I play with anyone who is a decent person, doesnt matter about their golf status. Anyone who has delusions of superiority etc deserve to find a tube of Bostic has split open in their bag.....if you get my drift?

Parmo........take the dick to one side and tell him to keep his opinions to himself and Foxtrot Oscar>
Otherwise ,if he is ever lucky enough to be proposed for committee, then he may need a load of votes from the ordinary members(not the ones he has upset/patronised/insulted)
Or just tell him that your missus is going to give him a vascetomy using the toe of her shoe!!!!!
Guy is obviously a dick with no esteem!

I often play on my own and sometimes get stuck with people like this! Trying to give constant advice.

One guy kept asking if he could give me a word of advice. After I holed out a putt and he missed his, I asked him for some advice? "If I ever get the yips like you, what would be the best way to get rid of it" He putted like crap the whole rest of the game and shut up!

*UPDATE*

Had my interview last night and all went well, it was just a chat about the comps and rules. The comp sec mentioned that he had seen me with a couple of members already then straight away mentioned abolut "who is decent and not" and mentioned said fella, it turns out he has had two warnings about his conduct whilst intoxicated!!! Also he told me that he didnt know the rules, though a decent golfer he still didnt have a clue

Looks like my unofficial hcp of 15 means jack as he thinks with the pressure of comps and playing people I dont know it will be 20ish, bonus more shots = more chance of winning, so I shall be a rabbit this next season

So from today I shall be avoiding said fella but be polite, and if I get the chance on the course, I shall take it.

As long as your game isn't the good the bad and the ugly. Its good to see you getting into the club (brucie bonus on le locker - good times) and that other people think the guy is a jerk. Disappointing about the handicap (bad times) but I'm sure if you do play off 20 ish it will only take a few competitions before the handicap secretary cuts your knees off

I love that one :D and I know exactly the type of people you mean, they just never drink a cup of STFU do they? I always wait till someone asks me, unless I see someone in dire need of help.

I myself am happy to listen to anyone of any handicap, if they know what they are talking about (some are often ex low single figure h/c just got old or knackered) as many know their stuff. But the nob type you speak of I dont listen to, but I will remember you witty retort and hopefully use it when Im trapped, thanks for the advice, see! :D
