size 11 and wide feet I wear the Adidas Tour ATV very comfortable no water issues so far and very reasonably priced for the old model if you shop around

I need a wide in Adidas Adicross, not sure what I was in Footjoy and I am fine with standard Eccos. Some Ecco models offer you an alternative insole which is apparently wider but I've never needed to use them. Hope that helps.

Another option might be the Stuburt Darren Clarke collection. Again my 11 in Footjoy is an 11 in these so a 12 should do you. Incredibly solid and well made shoe but not light. Good choice here & within budget by 5p

Not your size, but Ecco are indeed the most comfortable shoe I've used - and waterproof.
Dryjoys are pretty good too, though it's been a long time since I had a pair - as the Eccos have been so good.
Sizing for both is as per normal shoes. Always found I need to go up half a size or more for Adidas.

Me too Rich. I was going to give Blue in Munich a dose of the verbals and then remembered that he's playing KoK next week..... I'm not that brave, he's about 7foot 28!

Have you tried the spikeless ones Adidas !! Ashworth / Ecco no green probs all do wide fit and so comfy depend how wet your club gets , is it hilly / If it is reasonably flat spikeless are the best thing since sliced bread.

Are they? I have got a pair to try but I am sceptical about the grip, especially for the larger golfer, and even more sceptical about the wear as there is nothing that you can do to replace worn soles.

Don't worry at all. I am a large unit to say the least and had similar concerns. Last week it was still a bit muddy and mine performed excellently (see my review of the Stuburt Urban). Well worth a try for the OP and available under £30 in leather

I wear the Ecco Street shoes, and it is impossible to wipe your feet on a mat, as they grip too well ! I play in Biom Hybrids and have never slipped once and after a year the pimples are like new.

Is that because the are so clogged with mud and muck that they never actually touch the ground? Serious question btw. I have some spikeless Footjoys that I only wear in some as I'm not sure whether I can trust the grip in soggy conditions.

My ones did not clog up at all, unlike my ones with soft spikes. Hardly needed a blast with the airhose to clean

I have worn soft spiked ones in the winter, not so much for grip, but to keep my non spiked ones clean for the summer. Spikes seem better in mud, but non spiked are great in normal wet conditions.

Another vote for spikeless - while I'm in no way a larger gent I've been amazed how little grass, mud etc the soles pick up. As for wear and tear - I've had my Ecco Streets since August, played twice a week since then and at the range a lot - checked them this week and there's no noticeable wear - and if I'm going to be playing golf I'll often have them on all day, which means walking on pavements, concrete etc. as well as on the course.

The new Puma shoes seem to be made for a wider fitting. They look great and I tried on a pair in AG last friday. Cost over £100 though, think they were £112. In the end I bought a pair of last year's FJ's for £49.99. There were loads of sale items to try.
