Twenty stone chap, size 12 wide fitting shoe, footjoy softjoys have just ripped, just ordered some adizero tours, (they will go straight back), can anyone recommend a shoe that is waterproof, very comfortable and wont damage greens. Price limit is £100 or so. Thank you.

(The reason I ask is believe it or not, most shops only go to size 11 and so I cant easily try lots of shoes on)

Sorry it doesn't help too much.

How about these?

In all seriousness though I have size 13 feet, weight 18 1/2 stone and were Footjoys (can't remember which model) which are totally waterproof, fit very well with plenty of width and don't damage the greens any more than anyone else does.
Best bet is find your nearest AG and go try some on even if you don't buy them from there you will know which ones fit you as you want them to.

Comments like this from fellow sportsmen leave me gobsmacked. If the OP wanted dietary advice I am sure he is intelligent enough to seek it in the right place and not wait for a smart arsed comment on a golf forum. Never in the OP did he state he was fat. For all we know he is ripped with an 8 pack and ex wrestler or ex international rugby prop forward. You are just stereotyping because he has put his weight down. This is purely a response to the post by MARKGS

American Golf only stock up to size 11, and all regular width, or at least my local branch only stocks these variations

Most places have a footjoy measuring thingymajig. It is worth asking if they have one as you will need to order shoes in and at least there is a decent chance they will be a good fit.

Any of the Footjoy range Mark should be ok for you. If you go onto the Footjoy website and look at the range of shoes, go into each individual range and click on size it will bring up those that come in wide fitting and even extra wide. Not all styles come in wide and different colours in the same style vary as to whether they come in wide or solely regular.

lose weight is the answer

I was going yo suggest running shoes for the treadmill but wasn't sure it's constructive,

As a larger chap I stand by fj sports, they have a wide spread. You could also look a nike lunar or fj xps (I think that's right ) as the outrigger design should spread the weight better.

As another larger golfer I'd recommend Eccos, never had a complaint about comfort or wear, just avoid the ones with the pods & deep channels on the sole as they can have an Adizero effect in soft weather. I'm a 46 in Eccos and Footjoys so hopefully you should be a direct match for your Euro size in Footjoys. They are a more expensive option than Footjoys but a bit of internet searching could turn something up. Good luck.

Am also a size 12 and not the lightest of guys (tho a shade under 20st). Am a huge fan of the Puma shoes and recently picked up a pair of the Tux Lux shoes (last years model in the sale). As per several pairs of Pumas they are very comfy and fit like a glove after first wearing (I also have a pair of cell fusions which are also excellent) and are better build quality than the Adidas shoes (where ive always found the heels wear out in no time)

Clubhouse have them in stock at £70, see if theyll match Click golf who have been selling at £55 (but dont have any 12s left)

How do Eccos come up width wise. I always take a wide fitting in footjoys and they fit great but I can never find out about Ecco widths and an email to the head office did not help. So sorry if this is a thread hijack.

I don't think you understood the question.

Mark_G, I have wide feet, though only a 9, always gotten on well with Adidas wide fitting. If you can track some down the old adipure model are really nice. None of the adizero green issues. Totally waterproof for 2 winters now.

TRUE Linkswear Tours. On my 5th pair of them now! Absolutley no damage to wet greens with a heavy guy here. Totally 100% waterproof and WIIIIIIDE fit!

I think I might have a new in box pair if you wanna give them a go.

If you want to buy online Golfbase do free return postage and have some Nike ones in for under £40 if that helps
