Hi Everyone,

My Friend’s birthday is coming up at the end of the month and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good course to play within a hour and a half drive form Nottingham? (I was thinking the coast would be a good place to start - somewhere like the North Shore at Skegness looks decent).

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Cheers,

Hayden.

All joking aside...48 miles from Nottingham you have the Karsten Lakes course in Gainsborough.
James (JustOne) and I played here in August and were really, really impressed with the course and whilst we got a complimentary round there, I understand the green fee is very reasonable.
Highly recommended. We will be returning there to play it again.

Woodhall Spa! It's about an hour and a half from Notts. There's plenty of accommodation (PM me for the best places to stay) and the golf (as many on here will confirm) is second to none.

Failing that, Belton Park in Grantham is the best inland course in Lincolnshire not called "Woodhall Spa" ;).

The Belfry, Beau Desert & Forest of Arden are probably within 1.5hrs from Nottm.

Lindrick is in nottinghamshire I think.

Give me a shout when you come back. I'm a member there so it'll be even cheaper if I sign you in. :D

Cheers for all you help with the suggestions above. I've had a look and there's a few great courses there.

I do like the look of the Karsten Lakes plus the've got a good deal on the accomadation too! Woodhall Spa looks a great course too.

Going to suggest these all to my mate and see where he fancies.

Thanks again,

Hayden.

Cracking course. Absolutely loved it.
And that 14th hole....Roy's Creek isn't it? The par 4 that goes uphill around the corner with the stream/river running all down the right hand side.
Without a shadow of doubt, one of the nicest par 4's I've played anywhere.
And tough....James had a 9 up there!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D
