I have never played golf abroad and am looking at 3 nights away playing 2 or 3 rounds of golf for as little (and as good) as possible.

Another friend of mine has been, and highly recommends, Oceanica in Portgual. What/where else is there guys?

Also where is the cheapest place to go for flights? I've been told Ryanair? But there are also the club carry charges as we would like to take out own clubs.

I was in Tenerife last summer and played the Vincci Buena Vista Course, Las Americas and Costa Adeje. The latter has a fantastic 9 hole course attached as well which can be played for free with your regular green fee. Fantastic day playing 27 holes. Las Americas and Adeje are not far from each other however the Buena Vista is in the north of the island, however well worth the trip!

Old Head. The last week of the year they're open in October. Normally coincides with the Cork and Kinsale Jazz Festival. Amazing golf and great craic!

As far as I'm aware, only Virgin and BA don't charge for club carriage, and Ryanair are the worst airline for charges.

I'd suggest looking at something like yourgolftravel.com or similar, to get some ideas about prices and locations first off, and then asking people their thoughts on your shortlist.

Some mates just back from Belek, Turkey couldn't praise it higher
Belek is wall-to-wall golf courses (ranging in difficulty from gentle to fairly intimidating) and 5-star all-inclusive hotels. I'm going back for the third time next week. But you should only go if you can arrange a package through one of the golf travel specialists. Green fees for casual visitors are ridiculous (typically 80 euros upwards). And it seems a long way to go for just 3 days.

Off to Belek in Turkey tomorrow with 27 guys from the golf club for a weeks golfing, it's that cheap you would not believe it.

Cool - off to Belek with the wife tomorrow and have arranged two games out there with a forum member-so looking forward to it :)

27 blokes with golf & beer hope not the same hotel ;)

Then tell how much and i will tell you if I believe it.

Here we go breakfast at the golf club, 20kgs baggage allowance, 20kgs golf clubs and 10kgs hand baggages, transport from the golf club to the airport and return.
One week at the Cornelia Diamond Golf Resort Hotel 24hrs all inclusive, 6 rounds of golf at Faldo Queens, Sultan, Gloria, Carya, Nobilis, and Faldo Kings,
Only £1100 the only thing we have to pay for are buggies 15 euros and the comp fees like I say it's dirt cheap.

That does sound like a good deal - can I ask which company you booked this through? We're paying £2000 pp for two weeks at the Xanadu with 9 rounds at various courses. Also, last year buggies were 30 euros, not 15 (or are you dividing it by 2 to get a per person price)?
