Recommend A Golf Book Please

All, a mates birthday here at work and I've just been given the collection and told to go shopping!

Thinking a subscription to GM, and will then have a bit left over so looking for some book recomendations.

Don't think the Rotella type books will his his thing, wasn't there a book about a chap who went from 28hcp to scratch in a year? I think along those lines would work.
