Quite frankly am close to an infraction if I aired my views on this. Over 100 women sexually abused and raped by this guy and he will of served 9 years. Could be Britains most prolific sex offender. What message does this send out.
he is pure scum and should never of seen the light of day.
Am off before Phil send me a PM.

Don’t worry Tash , I’m scratching my head too.

I don’t know all the facts, but on the face of it it seems a bad decision

Somehow, he was only convicted of one offence so I wonder if all the women who came forward after his arrest can now press for their own piece of justice and he gets jailed again for these offences

The problem is that the Police only suspect that he's involved in the 100 other incidents.
Of the ones he was convicted of, only 1 was Rape, the others were sexual assaults..
The term served is par for the course(ish) for the crimes convicted.
The Parole board must have information about him that leads them to believe he is no longer a threat.
We don't have that information and we probably won't have it either...
The public outcry, whilst understandable, is based on little actual knowledge of the case, the facts and the condition of the mind of the guy.
If the Police can't link him conclusively tongue other incidents and the Parole board are satisfied, I'm not sure what else can be done legally.
Plenty that can be done illegally but that course leads to Anarchy.

Makes no sense. Appalling decision. I feel for all of the women and families affected by this man who surely must have thought he would never be released.

This could also see the end of Keir Starmer as a political figure as he was in charge of the cps at the time and decided not to prosecute on the other accusations that came to light.

Good post. If we as a country are to live by the rule of law we have to accept some of these strange decisions that we have no knowledge of.

It it does start to sound like a mega clustermuck by the police and the prosecution services in not persuing other cases.

The reoffending rates for sexual predators is horrendous. I cannot believe the parole board is made up of intelligent human beings.

I’d like to see parole boards charged with negligence every time someone reoffends.

I'm hoping it turns out they've let him out to die from some terminal illness in the next couple of weeks. Otherwise it just highlights yet again the extent to which the justice system is failing victims of sexual assault and rape.

Whilst i absolutely feel he should be banged up for life I do feel if he is to be released he should have to agree to castration as a condition

The parole board chair has been summoned to sit before an MP’s enquiry into this decision due to enmasse complaints from the public

I’m not sure what could be done as he’s actually served more than the minimum tariff he was served with, the only thing they could do is charge him with any of the new rapes that came forward after he was sentenced, I don’t think that’s double jeopardy, but I think they’ll want to get him back inside ASAP after all the media attention.

I just hope he doesn’t play the system and call foul on the media and demand a new identity and relocation at our cost!

👍This and let's just say it has touched a raw nerve.

Typical of the liberal elite that run this country they can’t understand still why the people are upset by this decision.

The justice system is there to serve the people so why can’t we know the reason for his release.

Apparantly it’s against the law to disclose the details.
so sod the victims just look after the scum at all costs . Pathetic!

According to bbc news, another 19 women came forward after he was convicted.

surely the obvious thing is to charge him with those offences, new trial, and bang him up for the rest of his days?

I am very surprised by the tone of most people here. He broke the law, and was convicted for it, is suspected he did much more also. He was sentenced for those crimes and under our laws is due to be released.

We as society should not be hoping bad comes to him, but that the penalty for the crimes, and treatment while behind bars was sufficient that he can be a useful safe member of society. If we believe the is no case for this then the problem is not with the guy but with the law

A report on the news said the police told some victims they had enough evidence against him so there was no need for their cases to be investigated. If true that is so bad in so many ways.
