Afternoon all,

I'm going to be working around the West Midland area probably up until Christmas and was wondering if anyone can recommends a driving range and a couple of courses to play that aren't going to be to expensive.

I'll mainly be in the Halesowen area but can travel a little bit.

Thanks in advance

I know a few in the west midlands area but not Birmingham to much.
The one I do know in birmingham area is West Midlands GC, it was a good standard course with a island par 3 for an 18th.
More in Walsall are Calderfields which is good value.
If your in the west midlands then play the belfry. Its always worth playing the Brabazon and the PGA National. The belfry has mixed reviews on here but I loved the Brabazon in the summer this year. Off the whites it was tough!!

Enjoy!

Hi

I am about 10 miles from Halesowen. Are you looking for Pay & Play or municipal courses? Plenty of driving ranges nearby. PM me, i am sure i can help.

Ranges.

Halesowen, outdoor field-style. Not recomended.

Depending on your exact location, I'd take the road to the M5 go down a junction, come off for the A38 and go to

Best range for miles.

Courses

You could try getting in a game at Wharton Park

or pop up to Swindon

If you want to go cheap and cheerful, I'd recommend the Golf course called "Lickey Hills" (or Rose Hill for members), part of the municipal group. I played here for years and it's a mature established course (over 100 years old) which, along with Pype Hayes is one of the top Munis.

Leasowes in Halesowen is a good test and picturesque. There's Stourbridge, Hagley, Dudley and Sandwell and many more around there. When you've tried one let us know as I'd be interested to know your view on them.

Hagley has a good range but a bit pricy. I assume that by Leasowes that Halesowen GC is in mind. There are so many courses in the area, you will be spoilt for choice. If you are here during a rainy time, bear in mind that Hagley gets very wet. Enville has two courses and drains well.
