Not a great eveining tonight.

3rd range session with the new clubs, first two sessions hit nice high draw, bad shot strong draw.

Tonight I met up with a work colleague at the range, first place we went to closed early because they only open the range to floodlight play on request in the winter and we missed they guy by about 10 mins.

2nd place was supposed to be 15 mins away but ended up being 30 due to bad traffic.

Turned out to be a right dive with bays pointing in all weird directions.

First few shots were ok with a little fade. Hit a nice drive or two with a little fade.

Next 40 balls all shanks and no feeling of connection between my arms and my body. I came home and almost cried!

I couldn't even picture how it was possible to get into a position to not shank a ball.

Also was the first time this guy saw me play, he is new at my work and as we were both golfers it seemed a good idea.

Now it looks like I am all talk and no game!

I can blame the range a bit, it was quite busy, very crowded, the bay I was in pointed right and the range went left.

I felt very uncomfortable, I have only every played ranges that face straight on so I didn't think the angle would affect me! How wrong I was!

I just was completly uncomfortable all the time I was there, add in all the preceeding factors and it really did not make for an enjoyable night.

Off again to a better range on Thursday, tonight is now forgotten and I am moving on!

Had a similar experience without the shanking bit. I don't feel like I'm turning properly and wanted to work on the takeaway and getting a good turn but I couldn't find the right position or any consistancy. Some felt too steep and others were too flat. No middle ground. Totally frustrated as it doesn't feel miles off but it isn't there in terms of ball strike and a few going left

You have just laid the foundation for a perfect hussle. When you play he'll be beggin to have a bet with you, if you know this isn't your normal game make it a decent bet ;)

If you weren't at all comfortable then its not surprising really! I would just put it out of your head if you can.
I really dont like driving ranges and NEVER have a good session so after after I've had a mare up there (once in a blue moon) I just forget about and even just laugh it off!
