Has anyone seen or know what the software is called for the range finder to go on your mobile phone. I've seen it advertised in GM but i can'tr remember what it's called.
I only have experience of a skycaddie (which is brilliant) so can't comment personally, but judging from this your money would be better off staying in your pocket or spent on an alternative such as a skycaddie.
The caddyaidmobile software is free to download & you only pay for courses you wish to download, either as an individual at £9-99, or £29 for a block of five downloads. I've got the free software & the free trial taster of a localcourse of my choice, not tried it yet, but handy as a taster of GPS technology without paying for the dedicated device. & on the face of it looks a good system for a free download
I think the course download prices are a bit steep if you want to use it more than on a set few courses.
There is an option of a monthly subscription at £9-99 permoth for unlimited downloads, but that equates to £120 give or take over a year & a lot more than I consider the facility is worth
Oh & there are not many courses with the full courseplanner type mapping. But not really a great loss as the basic information looks informative enough.
As I say, its ok as a backup, or those just playing a few different courses. If you are only going to play a maximum of 5 courses over a year & want to try Golf GPS, there is little to loose apart from £29 for a five download pack.
