Long story shortish ……….. Well in Feb this year I had all my gear nicked. Luckily the insurance company paid out.

So I replaced my Covert driver after testing a few brands I ended up with The R15 9.5 lofted up 10.5 bought into the marketing a little, But was fitted correctly.

All Numbers looked good etc… I thought it was the dogs until………………………..

I was having it re-gripped yesterday and decide to borrow a G30 Stiff shaft in 10.5 loft …..Blood hell every drive with a little draw straight down the middle 10-15 yard longer than my R15.

The G30 just provided me with so much confidence…..

With R15 I can be a little erratic.

Massive dilemma was it just one of those days or am I on to something???

Just thought I would share….

What would you do????

Borrowed club syndrome? Won't be the same driver once you own it! ;)

Did you test the g30 when you were fitted for the R15? If so what's changed.

I had a shot of my mates old ping g2 8.5 degree driver

Banged it down our 17th about 30 yards past my best on that particular hole.

I was definitely under the spell of borrowed club syndrome.

As Phil has said. Try it again before you commit. It's the best advice.

Whenever I try a PP driver I always nail it down the middle, without exception. On the back of one such experience I went out and bought an exact copy, same shaft, loft etc. second hand. Back to the usual inconsistencies within a few weeks. Better than before but not the silver bullet. It is one of the great mysteries of golf that your PP driver always works well for you.

I bought the G30 LS Tec and it is phenomenal. Added 15-20 yards for me and straight. It's not a cure all as it seemed in testing but it is amazing. Test again and, as the insurance covered it before then I would say treat yourself! Also, the R15 is £80 more expensive than the G30 so you may get a decent trade in and it only cost an extra £50.

Any chance it came from AG? I read somewhere that AG/Taylor Made are doing some sort of satisfaction guarantee.

I'm not listening! I don't want to read good reviews of the G30... These reviews are all fiction... must... must resist...

I resisted for months. Should've just take the plunge! First medal with it got a full stroke cut. Some may call that coincidence.......

Just to throw some water on the fire about using PP's kit, it's bollox, Kraxx has an R15 and I've swung it a few times at the range and it's awful, the club is dead, but to be fair it's fitted for him not me, however, on his fitting day I did try the R15 in various shafts , just to see and it's not the club for me.

But then that's the beauty of the kit we use, ones mans junk is another mans treasure.

Just spent a week in Portugal using an R11. My normal driver is a G10. While the R11 went well, I really had no idea where the ball was going to go. What seemed like a good swing resulted in different results every time. I have much more feel and predictability with my G10. The R11 seemed to be deliver more erratic results than I had experienced with my G10.

I've tried both and don't like either, both feel dead, too large, too dull and with very poor stock shafts with high torque.
Horses for courses. I tried the tour shafts vs the standard shafts and got much better results with the standard one and so that's what I bought.

Been looking at the G30 or the Cally XR, as my 915 d3 7.d degrees is hard work, swing it well and its a rocket launcher ,rips thru the wind

For me the SLDR was longer than the G30 LS Tec, it's pretty forgiving as well.

Well my head is spinning reading this coz am after getting rid of that rubbish unforgiving SLDR I own and then I have read this last post. Odd how one mans dream is another mans nightmare.
