Whats your thoughts on this driver, any good, have a chance of picking a black one up for a snip, have had a quick hit with it and was not bad,

It was a good step forward from my R11

Took me a while to get used to it though

if you can get used to the sound its a very good Driver, especially if you like tinkering

Love mine but have played with the settings to get the best out of it.

Started with a shaft that very stiff and heavy and had it at 9.5 degree and 2 notches closed on the bottom. This produced a low straight ish ball flight which usually stayed in bounds.

Have now got a shaft which isn't as strong. The settings are at 8.0 degrees and 2 notches open. Weirdly I'm now hitting more of a draw and it's launching higher - although that is all down to the shaft.

When I had it set to closed and 9.5 degree with the new shaft I was hooking everything so IMO worth getting them dialed in.

I have mine since March. Great driver especially on links courses as it is low spin.

Cheers for the info i picked it up today, i was getting a nice flight and plenty run out of it,i have an 8g and a 6g weight in it is this normal.?

Why are you buying an old R1 when you can buy a SLDR?

It was a decent deal, best way to buy is previous issue just after launch of new kit.

It was sitting in the pro shop at £149 mate and had money in my account a bit of a no brainer to be honest and its Black:thup:

Cheers for the info mate, must have been the way the guy had it before i picked it up, he didn't have it for long its in mint condition,will check fleabay for a kit
