Just a quick check on my putting routine that I think is perfect legal but thought I'd double check on here.
On the putting green when I stand behind the ball picking my line I like to use the shaft of my putter to line it up. I.e. I set my putter on the green, handle first behind the ball, like a snooker/pool shot. The putter completely rests on the green and I move it about to find a line I'm happy with. The putter is never laid in front of the ball.
Is this legal? Any issues with testing the surface or interfering with line of putt? As I said I think it's ok but I've never seen anyone do it so I'm wary it might be against the rules.
Thanks in advance
