Sort of in the next 30 minutes and the selection at WHSmiths isn't great 🤭.
Any recommendations? I was looking for the newer David Mitchell books but they aren't here.

The Dry by Jane Harper. Excellent stuff. Then read the Don Winslow trilogy about the Mexican drug wars (the Power of the Dog, The Cartel, The Border) , should keep you busy. And very entertained.

Lee Childs, Jack Reacher series. Dead easy to read, good stories. Loads to work through.

Mark Billingham, Tom Thorne series.

Have a great trip 👍

I think, as with the vast majority of crime/detective series books, it has run its course. Same with Hill/Jordan series by Val McDermid, Bosch series by Connelly and the Lincoln Rhyme series by Deaver. I think after lots of books they don't have anything new to say and you can see the author's heart isn't in it, but it's a money spinner so they churn them out. For me the only consistent quality detective type series is Ian Rankin's Rebus, he is a class above.

I'm only up to book 7 so it is still okay. No doubt I'll reach a book and realise it's time is up.

If beezerk hasn't read any, and he has a long flight ahead, then a Tom Thorne book will pass the time nicely.

Thanks for the Ian Rankin tip, I haven't read any of his so far.

True, but if he's starting with the latest ones then he's coming in at the tail end of the series. But agree if you start with Sleepyhead then quality stuff. Am actually quite jealous if you have all the Rebus books to read. Go in chronological order and enjoy.

Please advise a book that will change my worldview? A book that will replenish my knowledge and leave a good impression of myself. This is exactly what a cool book that I plan to write should be. And now I'm gaining experience writing while working in the best paper writing service to help students. I have already written so many good essays, and received good reviews on them, which I think will not be difficult for me to write a book in the future.

I actually bought The Power Of The Dog before I went to Mexico in Feb (thanks HK), I still have a couple of pages left and it's absolutely brilliant.
If you've seen Narcos Mexico it's very similar but with different names, in a way I'm glad I watched the TV series first as this gives much more of a background to other peripheral characters.
