So. In my quest for some new irons, there are some Mizzy MP-57's (shocking, I know) on eBay which have a 1degree upright lie. What does this mean (other than the face being "flatter" I assume). Is this what you would get adjusted depending on your ball flight? They're standard length, which is fine as I'm 6'1" so hardly a giant and have always used standard length clubs.

But I don't want to get them if the 1deg upright lie is going to hinder me.

One degree is not really anything to get worried about in my opinion. Its a simple job for a pro to alter them back if your really worried.

If you are 6ft 1, 1 degree upright is probably fine. I'm 6 2, and have 2 degrees upright. In general, taller people need more upright clubs, shorties need them flattened.

Hey i have 1 degree flat and i object to be called a shorty

I just have long arms which leads to low hands :D

Mizunos tend to be slightly flatter by default than other makes, so I would say that 1 degree upright Mizunos might be standard lie in other makes. Extended clubs will often be flatter than standard to balance the effect of the added length.

It also depends how much you hunch over at address. If you stand like you are looking down a very deep hole, trying to guess how deep it is, you may need flatter lie angles.
