Queensferry Crossing

I remember queuing for hours to drive over the old bridge the day after it opened .
I hope the queues aren't as bad this time.:whoo:
I was there too. Opened 4th September 1964 and cost 2/6 to cross! It made a tremendous difference from having to queue in the village for the ferry boat and if you missed the last boat it was a two hour diversion to cross at the Kincardine Bridge. It seemed weird watching the build from the same layby as we watched the original Road Bridge all those years ago.

It seemed a long way from completion when I drove over the other bridge in August.

really?

every time i go over i'm always impressed how fast they seem to be working. i noticed a week or so ago the southern access road was almost complete and just needed connecting to the existing road network. not so long ago there were predicting it being open well ahead of scheduled. only thing that put it back was the high winds they had.
