Just heard that Pyrford has been sold, along with Oak Park Golf Club, Sherfield Oaks Golf Club, The Bristol Golf Club, Hampton Court Palace Golf Club and Mill Green Golf Club.
Crown Golf have sold these clubs to Get Golfing Cio.
Interesting times ahead for remaining Crown Golf clubs, maybe there'll be plenty of fresh investment.
Watch this space!

As Club Captain of Pyrford GC, I did have advance news of this sale. It is fantastic news for the five clubs involved moving to Get Golfing in terms of financial support for the courses without having to fund Crown shareholders.

So what are their plans for your place?

It's limited in terms of space so can't see any change in layout but what about investment in watering (fairways etc) or is it going to simply be run as a business under a different name

Surely the new shareholders will want a return, or is Get Golfing a not for profit organisation?

Very bold move to make an acquisition in this climate. Hope it works out (y)

"Due to the impact of the Coronavirus on their business, Get Golfing have stated that they will no longer be able to fulfil their contractual obligations to Crown Golf and the sale announced on Monday will not be proceeding".

So where does that leave the clubs? Assume Crown still own them and will look to pursue a buyer once this Corona mess gets sorted
They didn’t needed to sell them but they got approached. Now it is back to usual and the clubs are still working as before, well, as all other Crown clubs at this point.

Whilst it is disappointing that Get Golfing do not have the level of financial backing to move forward at this time, positively it has been business as usual at these clubs and across the estate. As you will be aware this sale was as a result of an approach by Get Golfing and therefore the clubs were not being marketed or prepared for sale, which means operations remain uninterrupted as we move towards the season.
