Hello,

I am a product design student and have recently taken on a project related to the area of putting. Initially, I am trying to gather some background information and would be most grateful to those willing to spend a couple of minutes of their time to answer a few questions.

Many Thanks,

This one can stay, at least you introduced yourself. :D

Ideally the longevity question should have had 5+ years, you would like to think most things would last.

As a bit of feedback on the survey the questions assume someone wants such a gadget. It would have been helpful to state a lack of interest in those types of devices to give you a true reflection of opinion. I answered your questions but in all honesty I wouldn't buy anything like that. I think it would be more of a hindrance than a help.

That said good luck with the project.

Another quite effective method of gauging how far your balls go when you putt is to putt and then see how far they go. Thats what I tend to do.

Ah, unhelpful sarcasm, what we we do without it?

Also, I find the distance I throw my putter as I storm off the green relates to how far past/how short I am from the hole with my 1st/2nd/3rd putt.
6th hole Bearwood Lakes for instance. The distance I achieved after 4 putting from 12 feet was the stuff of legend.

Come on Smiffy, this isnt out of bounds, banter is frowned upon in 'ere! :D
Saying that, I have never thrown my putter in anger, more in disbelief that the expensive POS let me down! :D

Seriously George, I can't see these gadgets working. Apart from looking and seeing how far the ball goes, how can a gizmo work when a green has slope, grain and dampness which have to be considered to say nothing of different balls? Surely these will only work on a perfectly flat surface with constant speed?
I would appreciate your comments.
