I know this may seem daft but I was wondering if there was a relationship between the type of putter used and the hcp.:mmm::mmm:
For instance do lower hcp players (6 and under) use blades whereas the higher hcp uses a mallet or vice versa.
The reason for asking is I am seeing more and more lower players using 2 balls/fangs/corza ghost types around my club and can't work out why this is, I mean surely they should have the skill to use a bladed putter (Rory does and Tiger and Phil M as well to extrapolate this idea).:confused:
Are you low, mid or high and do you use a blade (anser/napa etc), mid mallet (rossie/#9 etc) or mallet (fang/spider etc) type putter. Or is there no rhyme and reason in it and it's just what suits the eye?

play off 6 and use a 2ball putter. have a straight back and through putting stroke so this is the best putter suited for my stroke. A putter is down to personnel choice. i would use a putter that is as big as a brick if it helped me hole 10 footers on a regular basis

Lots of pros using mallet putter so I can't see a correlation between better players and blades. It's about what fits and works for you. I've an Anser blade from the 80's which until a month a go was working well but we've had a falling out so gone to a half mallet (odyssey white ice #9)

There is no relationship between type of putter and standard of play, world number 1 uses a fang!
It's all down to personal choice, feel and what you feel confident with.
