I was quite a keen snooker watcher back in these days and it’s lovely how the impersonations are so good that I absolutely recognise them for who they are…forty years later.

When I heard the sad news of John Virgo passing I immediately thought of that comedy classic.

I'd probably place him in the A-List category of celebs. Certainly in the US and/or amongst any person that has an interest in politics and civil rights, which is quite a broad audience of people.

I doubt very much he would have called himself a celebrity, but he was very much an A-Lister in terms of fame and importance.
