I am in a quandary. I currently play MP-32s with S300s, but recently tried an MP-67 iron fitted with a Rifle 6.5 shaft. I honestly thought there was no way on Earth I could even get the ball airborne, however, I seemed to be hitting them alright, and moreover a bit better better than my current set. I tried an S300-shafted MP-67 alongside and it felt heavy and my ball flight was higher with it.
The pro, who didn't watch me using the irons, said maybe I could go for 6.0s as those seem less extreme than the 6.5s. Are the 6.0s better all-round shafts? I was only able to try a 6-iron and don't have access to anywhere local that I could demo a full set, and my concern is that if I did plump for the 6.5 shafts, would this negatively impact ball flight in the lower irons?

I always think you should go for the stiffer set as you will be more acurate and should have a tighter disperstion.

If you can hit a 6 iron on a normal flight there is no reason to think you cannot hit a 3 iron.

MP32's & MP67's The two prettiest clubs ever made - I really love the MP32's and cannot fault them in anyway. I think for a players blade they are so forgiving, I have hit and really enjoyed hitting the MP67's and would have no problems swapping although I am kind of holding out for the new MP's (don't know model number yet)

There'll be a new model? Do you have any details? (Like, for instance, will this be a new, more forgiving version of the MP-32 with the MP-67 being the more traditional blade?)
I should add, I bought a new set of MP-32s last year, as I didn't envisage that anything else would take my fancy and wanted to secure a set before they were put out of production, and paid about £450 for them at a local proshop. I asked on another forum what I could sell them for and the consensus seemed to be around the £250 mark, perhaps £300 at a push. They haven't been used yet, I should add. So I'm just wondering whether the comparative advantage a new set will afford me is worth the cost?

Unfortunatly all I know, is whats in the picture it was taken at the BMW this year the blades are marked prototype.

To me they look more blade like than any of the new irons so I see them as an MP67 replacement, and if they follow usual Mizuno release dates I would expect to see them Aug/Sept. If you can hold of till then I would expect if nothing else it would cause a price reduction on the MP67's.

I liked the comparative lightness of the Rifles.
Unfortunately, living where I do, the North of Scotland, it's quite difficult to find demo irons , especially with more unusual shafts, to try.
I saw a set of MP-62s on Jamgolf recently with those Nippon shafts, I think for a very reasonable price, too.
