The point he was making isn’t detracting from Rory top 10s or Top 5 finishes. It’s an impressive record he has and worthy of merit but finishing high up on the last day shows a slightly more consistent start would equate to more W’s and that’s what Rory will remember himself.Back door , front door , side door - all irrelevant imo
A tournament is based on 4 rounds and where you finished is cumulative of those 4 rounds , coming 3rd based on a good 4th round is no different to coming 3rd based on a good 1st round
Rory doesn’t seem to win too many wire to wire events and it does take him until the weekend at times to get going , but that’s probably the way he works , it shouldn’t be looked as a negative
It can be looked at as a positive that he consistently has finished so high, it can equally be looked at negatively that he could have and should have won more he’d say that himself.
Doesn’t mean either opinion is right or wrong. It’s just that they’re opinions and we all differ in how we look at it that’s just how it is!
