Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

Perhaps another example of the entertainment/sponsorship/finance side taking precedence over pure sporting integrity...
Am not against it though

Sensible. It’s hardly a free pass or “sponsor exemption” in, either. You have to qualify for the RC team to get it which is about the most toughly fought qualifying process there is.

Although there are non qualified picks as well, admittedly they are almost always very close to automatic qualification anyway.

100%.
DP world or just sponsors in general wanting ‘big’ names in their tournaments obviously ££££ wise can be a bit rotten, off top of my head I think likes of rickie fowler, maybe spieth and the likes in the past have had their cut of the PGA tour cake a lot bigger so to speak than their form deserved.
But in this instance I don’t think a ryder cup team criteria can really be argued. Pick or no pick. If you’re in the team then you should be at the euro tours season finale.

I'm not sure how the players are concentrating with all the traffic noise, horns and general hullabaloo going on during the Indian rush hour......
Thinking of muting the sound ..it's irritating me..must be he'll on toast there......

Quite enjoying it myself, something different! Saying that, I’m not fully concentrating on it.

Just had a look where it is on Google maps, looks as though it’s next to a main road into New Delhi and in a pretty built up area.

Would be nice if Fleetwood or Lowry could win

Cant help wondering how much of an advantage they might be getting over the field when its not drawn and you get to play with one of your ‘besties’ for 2 days (maybe even 3) compared to other players who will find themselves with strangers, or worse someone they don’t particularly connect with in the past

I know at my level I’m relaxed with friends, content with strangers but don’t look forward to the round in the same way if I simply don’t get on with someone (because of their pace/etiquette etc)
I'd bet we've all had a score go south when paired with a PP we didn't get on at all with or found irritating

The traffic noise is getting on my nerves like
Not just me then God knows what the players must think of it.

Agree with all of this think I’d like to see big Shane win, don’t have the best of years pre RC, played a huge part in winning that and missed cut last week. Think it’d be a nice way to end his year with confidence.

Also have to add it’s really good seeing Donald play well, he’s not endangering the leaders but nicely moving along at 5 under so far, love his swing, tempo and way he just plays unfussy golf.

As for the PP point spot on when you play with someone that grinds on you the enjoyment is gone and it’s hard to concentrate on playing your own game.

Isn't Donald also in that same 3-ball. If that was a local Open folks would be on here screaming at the placings for them after 2 rounds ;)

The golfers who like to watch golf how they remember it, should tune it to or record the India Championship. The emphasis is on accruacy, pleanty of irons off the tee, having to shape shots into the greens and this is sometimes into par 3's. Rough is penal if you miss the first cut. 🙃

Penal as in it goes into the jungle and you don’t know what’s in there so just play another 🤣

It’s been a really refreshing watch, seeing players have to think the way round and make the ball work with shot shaping. Need more courses like that throughout the season. Just less car horns please 🤣

If any man is set up to win a major over next couple of seasons it's Fleetwood. Nothing guaranteed obviously but I hope he gets one, such a likeable guy.

I think he has the perfect game for a US Open or an Open, great temperament and works the ball really well. Would love to see him get a couple of majors.
