The PGAT was the reason why the ET dwindled down to be such a poor relation

We have lost so many top events over the years because there was no support for it , the ET had to branch out events around the world to keep going whilst all the top Europeans jumped ship

They all chased the money and the ET was the big loser and it’s a shell of what it used to be

All “Opens” should be elevated beyond many other events - ensure the amount of ranking points is changed to have National Opens just below the 4 majors

I’m no fan of LIV but getting big players trying to play outside the US is a good thing

The split right now may help the ET strength , they play all over the world , co sanction national Opens , find a way to get all the top players to support those national Opens or “top events”

The ET needed more than just the odd player playing in them and it is a shame that the current situation is forcing players to play in these events when they should be looking to play in them anyway

Horschel has certainly made some fans on this side of the Atlantic by repeatedly playing (and doing rather well) in a number of European events. He’s one of the few Americans I like to see do well. Reed is a bridge too far though 🤣.
 
Rory's group twice on the clock yesterday (harshly he says) and he felt rushed playing his last three holes (in 2 over)

He said the crowds and TV crews make his group pace slower. He might have a point although you'd hope green to tee walkways aren't free for all areas & that players don't wait for a film crew arriving before teeing off
Maybe the tour screwed up putting three popular Irish guys out one after the other and groupings need to be smarter (or just put Lowry/ Harrington groups off 1st when Rory is off 10th to thin the crowd)

For sure you cant just let Rorys group play to a slower pace than others, especially when he's out early and setting pace for the day

Watching the Irish open and on TV at least the course dosnt seem all that? Ireland has dozens of stunning courses. Or is it all about money?
