Weather wasn't greatNot watched any of the golf this week - seen a few comments about the crowds being poor, is there any particular reason?
He was probably the best player last year and may well do well this year but I wouldn't say taking a one shot lead into the third round of a middle ranking PGA tournament is a big statement.Big statement from scheffler coming at a perfect time. Yet again showing why he's he biggest name in the business
More the fact that he shot 62. When he plays his best nobody can get near him.He was probably the best player last year and may well do well this year but I wouldn't say taking a one shot lead into the third round of a middle ranking PGA tournament is a big statement.
Pretty much every top player is hard to beat at their best. What was most impressive about Scheffler last year was the consistency that he was at or near his best.More the fact that he shot 62. When he plays his best nobody can get near him.

Even if it was a weak field (personally don't think it's that weak), what has that got to do with him shooting 62?!?It's a weak field, and the few that could challenge him haven't fired.

Thats a consequence of large field tournaments of elite golfers. Anything can happen in one round. Its a stronger field than any LIV event for example, but of course, not as strong as an elevated event or a mojor. If Scottie is to make a statement, it will be by winning. And he very well may.Well a guy that isn't even in the top 100 of the best players in the world shot a 63 - so a 62 from the best player in the world really isn't that stellar in context - nobody can get near him apart from a guy that hardly anybody has heard off who was just one shot behind...
McIlroys best is better than Schefflers best I would say. But Scottie gets his best out more often than Rory over the last two years, and that is key.More the fact that he shot 62. When he plays his best nobody can get near him.
Hopefully they both take their best to Augusta.McIlroys best is better than Schefflers best I would say. But Scottie gets his best out more often than Rory over the last two years, and that is key.
Yes. Have we had a real shootout between the two of them yet ?Hopefully they both take their best to Augusta.
Not that I can think of.Yes. Have we had a real shootout between the two of them yet ?
You're confusing stronger with deeper.Thats a consequence of large field tournaments of elite golfers. Anything can happen in one round.
