Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

Lots of McIlroy obsession on this forum. It's true, he's had a really disappointing day. Every pro has them, frequently.

In fairness to him, good on him for shooting +1. Can't play in the wind, can't drive straight, really dodgy putting and looked like he had no confidence in his chipping.

At least he managed to avoid some of the horrors others put themselves through.
It’s easy to be perfect sat behind a keyboard and criticise. Bet all of the people making comments have ‘bottled’ a medal in the last few holes or missed a putt to lose a knockout but then that isn’t newsworthy.

I didn't watch last night but the reports suggest the wind was up a little and the course was tough. Plenty had bad rounds, some worse than others. McIlroy, as an example, isn't that far behind that he is out of it.

The scoreboard suggests the course is set up just about right.

I'm looking forward to seeing it tonight.

The broadcast showed a graphic that the wind was 23mph in the afternoon. I guess when you play in perfect conditions 95% of the year with over 25C and 6mph of wind it could seem a little rough.

At my current place, I’d guess I played in 20mph winds more often than not last season.

I want Rory to do well, but look at the R3 scores and only 3 people in the top 16 shot over par. im sure you can guess who 1 was.

It'll be over with by then - last tee time is 14:01 and it's a two-tee start due to storms forecast for later on.

Caught the last 4 holes of LIV this morning after one of the hounds decided to wake me up at 5.00 am, Niemann the man on a mission in Rd2 shooting 7 under to get into a tie for the lead with DJ.

If there's one LIV guy I'd love to see win a major in the near future it's Joaco - he's got a great swing and can hit it any way the shot demands. South American major wins are as rare as hens teeth, but we might not be too far away from another. 🤞
Similar for me this morning (being woken up). Niemann had it pretty sewn up. He does need to show some of this form into the majors this year.
The time zones for this didn't quite work for the early & late.

On that subject, with the Players moving earlier, it looks like 5 live extra had rejigged their coverage (for those not currently in the Sky ecosphere)
