Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

Encouraging or worrying... (for RC)
4 of last 5 pgat tournaments won by Europeans.
Hitting form at wrong time of year, or building confidence... ?

I don't think anyone is saying LIV isn't professional golf.. It was just easier to navigate to where you wanted when they were separate..
If someone created a PGA thread... A DP thread.. As opposed to professional golf.. Would they just get annoyingly merged? 🤔
The thread has covered the PGA and DP tours combined since the beginning. It hasn't caused an issue, the thread doesn't get flooded with posts, confusing which player is playing in which tournament. The number of posts relating to the LIV tournaments is at a similar level so it should be easy to distinguish.

We tend to get separate threads for the majors, when posting numbers are higher, but normal tournament play doesn't warrant 3 separate threads, more if you include the ladies tours which also come under this thread.

We will monitor this over the coming months but there shouldn't be an issue.

Great to see Ludvig getting past his recent injury problems.
When fit and healthy his all round game will see him compete for titles on regular occasions
I thought he just had a bad case of the lurgy? Was very good yesterday. Funny game. McNealy playing like a god until 13 then suddenly comes to a juddering halt when he realises just what position he’s in. You could say he choked but not really - 8 under final round - you can’t really do much more!

Watched the back 9 this afternoon, Aberg was just first class, makes everything look effortless, his demeanour never changed once, looks like he was really enjoying it.
He will 100% be on the Ryder Cup team this year, if he stays fit.

Aberg has one of the best swings and motions I think I’ve ever seen. So good to watch. It looks effortless to him.

Absolutely, his swing looks so controlled. It's hard to see how he can hit it into trouble.

On Sunday his playing partner Finau has a really fast swing with such long levers. Aberg was effortlessly bombing it past him.

I wasn't watching the golf last night but saw this post and thought 'ah, that's a shame '. I like watching Aberg, he is exciting. Come this morning, check the result 😳. Quite a run in he had.
Yes an incredible recovery in the last 6 holes. I never expected that. I was pleased for the big lad. Its great seeing Europeans win on the PGA tour.

Hi seems like a nice enough fella, apparently now by winning has a place in the Masters and PGA majors.

Not about him, but is it really time for the likes of the Masters to revise their criteria with respect to PGAT winners?
PGAT always had various tiers of events, which have arguably widened since the introduction of the signature events.

Over on the DPWT 2 events in 2024 (Alfred Dunhill Links & BMW PGA Championship) and 1 already this year (Hero Classic) had stronger fields than last weekend's PGAT tournament. But no US major spots for them.
There were 10 PGAT tournaments in 2024 with a lower field rating than last weekend's PGAT tournament.

If meritocracy is the goal then how can this be justified, beyond 'the good ol' boys club'... 🤔

I watched the back 9 last night. It was some of the worst professional golf I've ever seen!
On a slight tangent, the fact that someone with a short game that even I'd be disappointed with is in with a shout of a win suggests that the balance of skills which the modern pro game examines is way out of kilter
