Can anyone help???

I am having quite a struggle just now with the driver (i canny hiit it straight) i generally hit the ball with a little fade but basically straight, have been known to get a little draw when needed but at the moment if i aim for a fade i pull it and if i aim for a draw i fade/slice it.

Any ideas???

Thanks in advance

Sounds as if the hands are working against each other.
Is your grip neutral?

Sorry bob Neutral???

I have an interlocking grip held almost at the bottom of the grip.

Sorry. I meant is your grip strong, weak or neutral as in the pic below

Have you checked your aim? When you're off its usually that you're aiming your feet to the right. You must have finished well on Friday, heard you were 3 down with 4 to go and won on 20th.

I am very much a feel player its quite hard to explain i see a shot and play it, which is why this is confusing me as charlie said i have checked my aim and it seems fine (as usual).

I will however check my aim again. could it perhaps be a timing and rhythm thing???

Hang back on a draw and you'll end up losing it right as you'll never get the swingpath coming from the inside. Hang back on a fade and you'll end up pulling it as the clubface will close... you're hanging back :)

Be more agressive though the ball and get to a nice finish... you're just trying to save energy and hitting it too easy! Lazy bugger! ;)

My opinion is it's either that or you just got yourself a reverse pivot....!

That makes quite a lot of sense.

I think that's partially correct in your case. Could never accuse you of hitting it too easy. You do however tend to drop your upper body back and down towards your right foot on your through swing, hence the reason you flumped so many of your wedges and short irons the last time we played. But normally you are one of the most pure and powerful strikers around. The tee shot i saw you hit miles right on 12 a few weeks ago was more to do with you swiping at it so hard you almost fell over.
I wouldn't worry about it too much for tonight, you have more than enough game to get it round without trying to draw your tee shots. I'm sure one of the resident pros will have a look at your driving over the next few days if you need any advice.

Glad you sorted it, what did you do?

Just pushed through the ball a bit more and tryed to be a wee bit more confident. seems to be working well and was certainly back hitting it staright (and long :p) today.

thanks for the advice i think the 'hanging back' bit made a lot of sense.

Cheers
