If its a medal day, I was given a great tip by my pro during a lesson. Start off as normal warming up working through the bag until your loose.

Then get out your driver or whatever club you would normally hit off of the first tee. Then get out your X iron that you would under normal circumstances hit into the first green, pick a target and really concentrate on hitting the "appraoch" down this target, repeat this for the first 5 or 6 holes of your course in your head using what you would normally do on the course.

This does work and gets you into the zone straight away. I have found this beneficial on medal days. Obviously wont work for everyone but it did help me get into the scoring zone quicker than I normally would.

Thats soundslike a really good idea, i always strugle to consentrate and get anything out of sessions on the range i think that will help no end ..
