Does anyone have issues with the switch on the Powakaddy CT8 Sat Nav.It is difficult to stop when you press the centre button it has to be pressed hard to stop the Trolley.

The "soft" start/stop feature is the most annoying feature of the CT8....you push the button, nothing immediately happens, you instinctively push it again, just as your "original" push takes effect, and it cancels out your first push.

Utterly annoying....two years and I'm still not used to it!!

Wouldn't say it is hard to stop the trolley...just that it is slow to react to a button push.

I just turn it to zero before pushing the button.

Could be the switch is a bit sticky .
Pull the button off and put some WD40 on it.

I’ve just had my button replaced off Powerkaddy I asked him about this soft start /stop he said there is no such thing 🤔

I’ve had my button replaced off Powerkaddy before mine was the same not good considering they cost nearly £1000

They might not advertise it as soft start anymore (they used to do so) but soft start is exactly the way it operates...maybe call it a "delayed reaction" start if Powakaddy prefer that term.

I have just bought one of these CT8 replacing a power bug. The button is seriously annoying as it is not "definitive" enough. You push it and sometimes it does not register the instruction so trolley continues moving or doesn't stop. It has now started turning itself off intermittently.
Very disappointed with it when I thought I was buying a premium product and it's only a couple of months old. PowaKaddy are taking it in for repair (but not providing a loan trolley) so I'll let you know how it goes.

I have had the same problem since new. Within the first week it was sent back to Powakaddy agent but 2 weeks later when it was returned it still did the same thing. Doesn't always start and can take 5 times to stop it so I end up lifting the rear wheels off the ground while I get the thing to stop. Eventually decided to send it back for repair after 5 months of struggling with it. Just got it back and nothing has changed. All my previous electric trolleys have been Powakaddy and I still have the fw7's which my wife and daughter use. They have standard switches with precise on off functions. The new design to stop accidental knocks to the button which can send the trolley off on its own has put me off ever buying another Powakaddy. £1000 worth of machine which feels solid in use is spoilt by this switch.

Would one of the old style switches fit it ?

They can’t be that different!

You could take the old one off your FW7 and try it let us know.!

Same here and thought it was user error. I’m forever lifting the back wheels.

The whole process of dealing with it puts me off, so just live with it.

I wish the button was my only problem. 3 years old and only used 4 times in the first 2 years. Had 2 XL batteries and one turned on by itself and won’t turn off. Had to send it to Golf Warehouse repair center, told me the warranty was 2 years an I need to buy a new battery at full price ($750). Thanks but no thanks, and getting the battery in and out and making good contact, that’s a whole other story. Buy a Motocaddy.

£750? For a battery? Think you been had

£279 for the old version and £319 for the new version available on various websites

That would be around 400 dollars

Interesting, the latch on my battery got smashed by a rogue golf ball a few weeks back, it still works but doesn’t lock in place. I doubt they would replace it for that kind of fault 🤔

Worth contacting, if it doesn't lock then it could pop out and break or land in water, I would argue it's a major fault, they will say it's not there fault but it's definitely worth a try, I'd leave out the part about the golf ball smash tho
