In a couple of weeks I'm playing in a 36hole comp, my powakaddy only has an 18 hole battery.

dont fancy carrying for 18 holes and playing 36 in one day.

i think a powakaddy has the facility to freewheel, in effect become a push trolley, which I'm happy to do for the morning round, then use the battery for the afternoon round.

not sure exactly how to do this, anyone use a powakaddy able to help? I think you have to disengage something or other?

Thanks in advance

Have you checked to see if the club hire electric trolleys and use one of their batteries ?

I think you need to click the wheels out one notch which then turns it into a push trolley

"Why don't you ask a friend who has a powakaddy to lend there battery"

Cos they're playing in the same 36 hole comp...........

Just one point.

Pushing a power trolley in "neutral" is really hard work. Many have done it and will attest to this, I'm sure.

Can you borrow/hire a push trolley for the first 18 holes? Might be worth it..... ??

unfortunately the hire trolleys are all motocaddy so not compatible.

i think you're right with the click notch thing, will give it a go tomorrow. Thanks.

How much is it to hire a trolley for 36 holes ?

ive never tried it to be honest, good shout though, might have to have a rethink

So they have motocaddy you have powakaddy so rent a motocaddy for morning yours for afternoon not rocket science

You're right, it's not rocket science. But if adapting what I've already got for 18 holes was do-able (as per my original question) then hiring/borrowing wouldn't be necessary would it?

But a big thanks for your invaluable input, much appreciated.

if however you are planning to push for the first 18 take the battery 'that weighs the total of 4 large adults' off it first, then its fine to push, not as easy as a light push trolley but unless you have any disabilities or ailments it's not difficult. Then power for the second 18 to secure the win:thup:

If you use the battery sparingly ie switch off on inclines and paths etc you should be able to get 36 holes out of it easily. I've done it with mine on loads of occasion when I can't be arsed to take stuff out of my boot when playing 2 days running.

I'd agree with this - especially if you have a weed out of your bag to get rid of all the crap that seems to accumulate :)
It's amazing how much all those extra balls, brolly, waterproof, bottles of water actually weigh.

Problem sorted, will be hiring a motocaddy from the pro shop for the afternoon round, and using my powakaddy for the morning round.

thanks again for your suggestions.
