Guan Tian-lang shot a five-over-par 77 as he became the youngest player to compete on the European Tour, aged 13.

The Chinese golfer, who is 13 years and 173 days old, bogeyed his first hole at the China Open and dropped four more shots in his next five.

He birdied the seventh but bogeyed the ninth to turn five over before parring all nine inward holes

Where will he be in 5 years'time?

50/50 whether he makes it or not the previous youngest from Hong Kong open 2003 has hardly made it since, good luck to the lad though most of us can only dream of 5 over let alone on a tour set up course!

To some extent does it matter. He's got his place in golfing history and to be honest that performance was pretty creditable too and he could make the cut tomorrow. My concerns are will he turn out like a male Michelle Wie and get pushed too much by greedy parents and badly managed and burn out and lose form

you have to ask yourselves how he will take it mentally if he misses the cut,its ok being able to play in this tournament but will the pressure and expectation prove to much look at M.WEI
