Always branflakes and muesli for breaky. Mid round is something the missus makes flapjacks/shortbread etc and always drink just water and lots of it.

Post round is usually blackcurrant and lemonade or in the winter a hot choccy

All depends what mood I'm in, It used to be 4-6 pints of beer before starting (sundays only). Now it's more like 3 cups of coffee. I used to take a flask out with me aswell, there's nothing like a coffee after 9 holes.
Now I just take 2 lts of water with me, and yes I do drink it all.

Reported for slow play as you are never out of the bushes taking a leak ;)

My plan for next weekend onwards is to take some sandwiches to the course, I normally end up with no breakfast and then play 18 and then have some beers and not eat until I get home (if I get home that is). From now on only a couple of pints and food before and during golf.

normal day, muesli and yoghurt (instead of milk) and tea,
carry a cereal bar (but often bring it back) and lucozade or similar (favourite is the lemon caffeine boost).

evenings - I cook a lot of asian (chinese/malay/thai) with loads of chilli and veg, and I'm still growing? (tonights is chicken marinated in garlic, ginger and chilli with a pineapple and

society day, as above but add bacon roll and coffee on arrival. society days usually include lunch and sometimes lunch and dinner. we've had some mediocre (the perennial ham, egg and chips) and some superb (a smoked mackerel and horseradish starter followed by a small mountain of the tenderest lamb).

I like to tee off early on sunday so if i have time i'll have a sausage sarnie before (if not wholemeal toast), a sandwich with either cheese or meat stuff on during the round with ribena, after if i didn't get chance for that sausage sarnie i mentioned then i'll have that with a few beers.

I do agree with Viscount that society days mean a different approach. Its usually bacon baps and coffee and then lunch is either a ploughmans, a running buffet or a set menu (normally two choices) followed by a sit down meal (normally a roast).

That said I've had some excellent food on society days including sush starters, excellent traditional meals (liver and bacon, pan fried cod etc) and some exquisite deserts including homemade crumbles and custard.

What would we say is the best starter, main course and dessert we've had on a visit to other clubs and what would the GM forum definitive society menu be.

Pre: Coffee. French and strong
During: Water - sometimes flavoured (should drink more)
Post: Snack in clubhouse (usually bacon roll)with either a pint or a mug of tea.

Reading the other posts makes me feel that I should eat and drink much more than I do - my energy levels would be higher.
