Never win again. Discuss if you like but he's on the Sandy Lyle slope.

I fear you're right Craw. He still has a low round from time to time but I think that he's on the same slide that Michael Campbell et al have been on in the past.

Shame really, he is/was a wonderfull putter and reader of greens. I really liked watching him.

Shot 61 not long ago. Had a great run at the Masters and could have been in contention had those birdie putts dropped on Sunday, and you might say that's what you're getting at and that he's lost it but a golfer of his quality I'd never count him out. He's a deep thinker, probably too deep, and keeps fixing things that aren't that broken. As he said himself when you get to his stage in your career you have a lot of scars, the kids don't, but he knows how to win at the highest level and as Jack says that doesn't just go away.

All his good performances came from remarkable scrambling. He was as good as Tiger from 10ft when he was on it. Now looks dodgy even from 3ft :(

I have a prejudiced view what he did last year at the FJ/GM event and so would dearly love the OP to be wrong. I happen to think there is a win in him, probably not in the US and definitely not in a major but I think if he bases himself on the European Tour full time he would be able to compete and win

I'd be lying if I said my view wasn't prejudiced either, could always relate to him, I guess growing up we had a few home-grown talents but he always came across as pure normal, fierce nice fella, no guff about him.

I dare you to post this on Golf Central Daily's page on Faceache Craw.

I did so a while back and got no end of abuse from the Paddy's....truth hurts maybe?

Was accused of being an English t##t,a Proddy Bas among other unsavoury things!!

Couldn't make it up!

Ha ha, I wouldn't make it a patriotic thing but as for "truth hurts" I don't think its truth, its opinion, and we're all entitled to our own however biased they may be by pride in our own. If you are English (and I have no idea if you are, but let's say for the sake of arguement) I'm sure you wouldn't argue that you haven't felt a little overly-forgiveing of some English sportsmen in your time regardless of what they've done. Replace with Scot, Welsh, ad infinium.

I have to agree I believe if it ain't broken It doesn't need fixing and from memory did he not change his swing after his last major win. If it worked for 3 majors why change

Engl......???!! Don't insult me please!!;)

Opinion, true, but if someone told me one of my countrymen was finished and I didn't agree I think I would refrain from spouting religious bile.

He still has decent rounds in him but I do think he's a done man by the way.;)

Now who is the xenophobe?!

Just kidding, and I have to laugh that some people went down the religious road, wouldn't pay much mind to those sort of folk at all. My feeling would be he can put those decent rounds together and if in contention on Sunday has as much experience at the highest level as almost anyone, so as long as the bookies offer me 90/1 on him I'll lay a couple of quid down and hope he's brought the good stuff. I don't often bet, and if I do its on someone I'd love to see win, and he's right at the top of that list. There was a time they counted Jack out, said he was past it, and then he wasn't. Great players are always great players, they just need to tap into it for long enough to make it count.

I think his mind golf wise has turned to jelly. Too much going on upstairs getting in the way imo. He used to be rock solid at his peak but he looks a shadow of his former self recently even if he has thrown in the odd good round.

Harrington is one of my favourite golfers and i sincerely hope that he does get back, very unfashionable golfer compared to the golfing gliteratti on tour at the moment.

he is the eternal tinkere however it has worked for him in the past and when he is on his game he normally blows the field away as per the 61 he shot recently, the issue is that he then tries to forget about it.

one thing i have to say about him is that good or bad you get hime the one way, no sulks always there to answer the questions.

top man in my book

I have had a feeling in my water that he is building up for another Open win.

My water has been surprisingly accurate in recent years.

Comebacks for Thomas Bjorn, Nicolas Colesarts, Ken Ferrie and David Howell [well 3 out of 4]
I know David so I think my water was biased!

he was renound for his scrambling and now since he`s changed putting coach he`s no longer able to hole the par putts ...always seemed a bit weird with some of the stuff he came out with in his interviews ...dont think he`ll get a pick for the ryder cup this time around ,cause he was crap at the last one and won`t have `img` to bale him out this time ....

I wouldnt take too much notice of his round today, he hates Wentworth.

Think he still has a few 'W's in him....

Would love to see him back and competing at the top of the leader boards and reckon he can but feel like others stated he would be better concentrating 100% on playing in Europe.
