I used to play online full time, gave it up several years ago, mainly played 8 or 10 cash tables and it became too boring and robotic. Pretty much play live only these days, and only for fun, try and play some of the bigger local tournaments (mainly Gentings Luton and a bit at the G and DTD) and satellite into some of the bigger national ones (the only time i really play online these days). Played the WPT500 last weekend at DTD and got unlucky in the satellite for the 3K the other night sadly, will play the deepstack at Gentings this weekend (2 day tourney) instead now

Pokertracker def worth having, a high portion of your oppos are using it so makes sense for you to do so too

I'll give it a whirl sometime

I wont be playing again until the weekend as im back at work

I aint a big fan of cash games, mainly due to my bankroll. I'm by no means minted, but i wouldnt want to be playing 2c/4c blinds as thats the type of game i'd need to be playing at to have substantial BB's

A high % of skill but a bit of luck too, having just started ayimg again for a bit of fun I've never dabbled in cash games or cash tournaments at all but considering it.

What sort of time scale are you looking at on these weekend tournaments start to finish roughly?

On Pokerstars there's a tourney starts at 6pm called the Sunday Storm which has a $11 buy in. I went out in 85th for $500 at 2.45am !!! lol

However, theres shorter tournament. considerably shorter ones can last around an hour but the blinds go up every 3 mins (usually classed as hyper turbo) these require luck to build a stack early but once your comfortable its all about positioning on the table.

If you want a tournament that'll last around 3/4 hours then i suggest a turbo. On P'Stars these had 5/7 min blinds and are ideal for a tournemant that moves swiftly without having your blinds chipped away at every orbit.

Are you on Pokerstars? We should try and set up a private GM Table/Tournament

I am on pokerstars but only play with play chips which is proving to be very boring as lots of people are prone to go all in with nothing. Time is an issue for me also as I don't fancy sitting for 5 or 6 hours a time if I happened to manage that far lol

Should add $500 for 8 hours work is good dough ;)

An old fella once told me you can win big at gambling but the secret is knowing when to hold em and knowing when to fold em, he also said you should know when to walk away and know when to run.

Another thing, never count your money when your sitting at the table.......they'll be time enough to count it when the dealings done...

Gambler, yeah I know all the words to say
'Cause I'm a gambler, I only play the game my way, yeah

My other halves nephew started out as a croupier on a casino boat in the black sea, he came home to Newcastle carry on and is now one of the managers in a casino and he'll you that :-

[*]The house lets people win to make them come back another day

Ask him how they 'let' people win? Is he suggesting they fix the games?
