Plus2 or plus 4 golf trousers

yes I can see that they are very practical on the muddy days, and particularly if you have to walk through tall wet wispy grass a la links golf. but I certainly haven't the nerve to carry them off while i'm under 60...

took the wife for a brunch one Saturday morning and a four ball of old boys rocked into view all wearing plus two's...

her reaction was along the lines off "what the.....?"

In America +2's are known as knickers.
Magic moment when an American golf commentator said 'Payne looks very smart today in his pink knickers and black stockings'

+4's have to be tweed to carry the look.
My father used to have a great tweed shooting suit. Used to weigh a ton.

The key thing is, If you need to get out of your car on the way to the course, don't wear stupid trousers.

Just exhaled coffee through my nose.........exactly my thoughts as I was getting out of my car in a busy service station last night wearing my Poulter tartans......

On the plus 2/4 front, there are three or four players at my place wear them, I'm actually quite liking the idea but don't have the calf size (too tall and skinny) to carry off the socks.

For the OP, Slanj Trews make and sell them, although they may be a bit rich in the pocket - http://www.slanjtrews.com/shop/products/mens-tartan-plus-fours/

Plus 2's = Clean trousers but dirty socks right? Bit like dirty pants clean botty???

Personally you have to have calves like Desperate Dan to pull them off and with my legs I'd be constantly asked why I had two pieces of cotton hanging from my shorts! :)

Im afraid wearing these gives golf the impression of being and "old duffers" sport to the younger generation albeit I think they can look quite cool.

I've getting ready to rock this little ensemble on Boxing Day....

County Golf have always stocked a good selection of restrained plus 2s at sensible prices.
