I've just realised that I will only be playing my home course twice in all of June and July due to competitions elsewhere. Does anyone else have a similar 'problem'?

is that a problem really i know we all enjoy our home courses or we would be members but it is nice for a change to have an away day or 6! :)

Is it a problem?
Don't you need a H/C cert for your comps?
Isn't it your choice to play the away comps?

That is why I put the word problem in quotes. The issue is I'm missing out on playing my course when it is in it's best condition but it is my choice to do so. And yes you do need a valid handicap to play in open competitions.

I also cant see it as a problem.
This is obviousy the busiest time of year, lots of away
open days.
In fact i quite like the change of course being played.
Im not quite as away from my home course as you,but im
really looking forward to my away day opens.
We have 6 this year, all arranged by a different person.

I'm in a similar boat to you, organise my golf around my shift patterns and have played more away comps that home comps this year so far and will do so for the rest of the season. I think my handicap travels ok so dont mind it at all. Saying that I got beaten up big time yesterday at Southerness, 83 & 84 (css 75 both rounds), it was rather breezy but great fun, proper golf!

Sucks, doesn't it?

Yes. It will be probably another 4 weeks until I get to pick up a club too. As I'm on holiday in Cyprus hen when I come back, have numerous weddings and whatnot to go to.

Depressing doesn't even cover it. Hopefully two weeks of sun and all-inclusive food and booze will help ease the pain :D
