Playing partner - a rant

You big Jessie :ears:

Was howling this morning but went out and played 18. Played pretty well in the farcical circumstances!! Was fun with the wind behind, drove the green on our 4th

Not quite so much fun into the wind right enough!!!

I decided to give it a miss this afternoon after having to retrieve our wheelie bins a few times. Simon said you had fun this morning lol

some of the best laughs out on the course are in conditions that are far from perfect, i would try to start a round and if you have to come off the course then so be it.

That's still a big dig! 443 Whites / 436 yellows (from card not memory!). Did you use a Bazooka   :whoo:

For the record, I would have gone out, had a lesson booked though

Winter tee so a good bit forward of the normal ones. Great fun downwind on a firm course!! Shame we only really have that hole downwind the way it was blowing but 8/9/15 were all dead into it....

Character building I think they call it! Was a good laugh though!

i must have a dirty mind lol

There are two meanings to the 4th "S" for sure...

ha
Nope, the 4th is definitely the mystery one. The one you're both thinking of is in the first three.

As to the OP, it's always disappointing to have the rug pulled from under your feet. Strong winds are not a good enough reason to let someone down in my mind.

I played this morning in easily a 3 club wind. My playing partner and I just had a laugh. It wasn't raining and the conditions were certainly interesting!! I scored 32 points.

So just the 375 then 😃😃😃

I can feel the frustration but having ventured out to try and hit some balls yesterday I can totally understand why your PP pulled out. It wasn't as fierce in Berkshire as many other places but it was still impossible to control the flight and the direction on the practice ground and the session was quickly aborted. Even chipping was erratic in the wind

I must admit to quite enjoying the challenge of a good gale! Can't beat a knocked down 6 iron to a 120 yard par 3 .
We did venture out, but only to a local par 29 nine holer. It really makes you think a bit. Great fun though...........until the rain joined in!!!!

Great winters day for golf yesterday - the wind kept the rain away.

I had a full on brutal sports massage on Friday to free up all my quads, hamstrings etc - the result was a proper free turn in thee swing again, felt so different!!

Celebrated with a 73 and took the £40 pot :)

I find this a bit strange. I have always loved the challenge of playing in strong wind conditions (not combined with heavy rain, however). You have to do so much more thinking about distances and club selection that it becomes a totally different experience. I'm a happy bunny at the moment, particularly as I had a little 0.9 chop on Tuesday and buffered yesterday.

Rosecott
how do you manage to get a chop in the winter.

reason I ask is because I have probably played my best golf this winter but they have all been Comps where the handicap has never been adjusted which has wound me up a bit. How can some clubs go all winter without having NQ comps but others do.
