Playing Golf in Strong Winds?

People massively overestimate how strong the wind is.

My course in the fens is exposed and windy. A normal day is a 10 to 12mph breeze. When I have guests over, they think this is more like 20 to 25 mph. There is a huge difference in the difficulty of playing in these two conditions.

We have the occasional day where it gets up to 30mph. At that point it’s just playing for the fun of hitting some crazy shots. The score is irrelevant.

The thing with my course is like a links. There is no shelter, so the wind is constant and can be quite oppressive if you aren’t used to it.

I much prefer the rare days when there is just a gentle breeze or no wind at all.

As the title says after playing Sunday in strong winds and the winds we are getting now.The stableford scores being very low , max 34 points .(I Had 30 by the way 4nr)

Do you find it too difficult / fun / challenging or other to play in those conditions??
I traded up to old man’s clubs a couple of years ago, and on the whole the improved consistency and forgiveness has been great, and I can still hit controlled fades and draws (if less extreme ones); but I just can’t keep the ball low into the wind as I could with the old blades. I know, a poor workman and all that…
