Playing club comp without handicap?

Is this doable and something that is down to the discretion of the committee?

Texas scramble Tommorow, someone has handed in their three cards today however obviously is yet to be allocated their correct handicap.

There’s a gap that appears not to be otherwise filling. Said member has shot 3 rounds from low to high 80’s however states he would happily play off scratch if necessary to be allowed to play Tommorow.

I believe usually it’s around 10% of combined handicap so assuming he’d be off around 10 it’s only one shot lost so seems a fair option. THE 3 ball seem happy to be able to have a fourth man, no other players seem to have objected and it appears the only team at any disadvantage is the team he’s playing with.

Scrambles are non qualifiers so it shouldn't be a problem but I would imagine you would need the committees agreement first.

1. Up to committee, or more specifically the clubs terms of competition.
2. When made aware the handicap sec should just allocate a handicap...its neither rocket science nor time-consuming. Problem solved.

Why not play him off scratch then unless he is going to obtain a plus handicap it shouldn`t be a problem.
