Well done for that. Was going to play but with 40+mph winds and a -3 wind chill decided to have a break. Think I've been playing and practicing too hard. Need a break as I am compounding swing errors.

Think I am taking it back too straight and therefore getting a very high position at the top. As a result a lot of my shots seem to be hooking but I think it is a result of coming down with a closed clubface. I also think the wide backswing is leading to me swinging too far with a resulting reverse pivot.

Going to the range tomorrow to work on taking it back slightly more on he inside, complete a shoulder turn without the need to over extend (leading to the reverse pivot) and basically compact the whole swing (too many moving parts).

Homer try keeping your right knee flexed and feel your weight pushing down on your right foot as you take your backswing this should help keep you away from reverse pivot.

practice opening the club face on takeaway. take the club shaft to waste height then back to address keep doing that practicing to keep the face open, if you do it right at waist height the club face should be parallel with the shaft and you. Not pointing down to the ground or up.

Its a dog to explain so i'll try find a vid!

Hmm
Playing pretty badly too. Despite which went out today hoping a relaxed round might put things right. Needless to say the stiff breeze didn't help. Started to hit the ball better but couldn't get a score together. Think I should have a lesson, but not sure what the problem is. No one shot giving trouble, just general lack of confidence and consistency. (Typcal high handicapper!)
should I have a lesson now, or have patience and see if things look different in another week's time?

Finished work early and sneaked a 3 ball in.
Played a full 18 in terrible conditions.
Side winds, wind behind, wind in the face. To be honest it was bloody awful. Had sun (briefly) rain, hail but generally very cloudy, windy and cold.

Rounded on 105 which considering the conditions wasn't a total catastrophe. In my defence my mental game was severely distracted by a text from work on the 5th (phone in bag on silent folks! The phone is imperative for my job)
The upshot is I now realise the mental part of the game plays a very big part, the text message really did put me off my game.

Cheers mate, with your putting talent you will shooting good scores pretty soon once you sort your consistency out with the long game!
Definately look forward to the next game!

The venue was in good nick too!

I played yesterday and was rubbish, I had to catch myself on about the 6th hole. I was walking onto greens and fixing pitch mark after pitch mark. I wasn't thinking about my golf at all. So after the 6th the only pitch mark I fixed was my own. Sorry Mr greenkeeper but if I can fix my own pitch mark so can other's.
